A primary purpose for taking the IELTS test for many English learners is to obtain admission to an American university’s undergraduate or graduate program of study. To be admitted, students require a particular test score. The purpose of the IELTS Test Preparation Courses is to provide students the opportunity to practice test-taking strategies which will help them increase their scores on the IELTS while improving their overall listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English. Placement in an IELTS course will be based on students’ previous IELTS score or successful completion of Level 6 in Boston Global Institute’s Academic Preparation Program.
