Dr. Michael Rost is a well-known researcher and teacher trainer.  He has a Ph.D. in Linguistics and has written several books and articles on English communication.

Dr. Rost has identified the “secrets” that turn you into a “super learner.” These “secrets” are strategies and study habits that successful language learners use.

In this course, we focus on the topic of “Hometown” – your background and where you come from.

We will focus on five main questions:

1. Where’s your hometown?
2. Do you miss your hometown? What do you like about it?
3. What would you recommend that a visitor do or see in your hometown?
4. Has your hometown changed much since you were a child?
5. Do you think that the place where you grew up is important?

We will watch three different interviews, where the students are asked these same five questions. And we’re going to focus on their communication strategies. And then we’re going to follow up with some study skills in pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary.
